Counter Strike in Windows 2k

I have a small problem when I'm running Counter Strike in windows 2k. What happens is that if I downsize the window all the overlaying graphics (onscreen text and the transparent bar on the bottom when you die as well as the radar begin to ficker) Does anyone have this problem? I know your not supposed to downsize games when playing but, with that aside... Relevent Info: Geforce2 GTS 32MB Asus. I tried both Nvidia and Asus reverence drivers, and the problem persists. This is also on a fresh format. I also know its not the card because once I moved the game to my other OS (win98) it stopped doing this. My goal it to get rid of Win98 once and for all!!! you are at least hitting escape right?? and then alt tabbing??

yeah, you arent supposed to, so dont do it, problem solved, close aol and icq and you wont need to downsize again.
