I just acquired a Mac Pro (Mid 2010), 2 x 3.46 GHz 6-Core Xeons, 32 GB 1333 MHz RAM, 250 GB SSD, 1 TB HD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6144 MB.

I did a full format and reinstall of the OS on the SSD and am currently running High Sierra (10.13.6) (though I initially tried using a dosdude1 patched version of Catalina (10.15.4), with the same crappy result, so I reformatted again to install a fresh and clean copy of High Sierra).

The first (only) thing I installed after the OS was Steam and Counter Strike:GO. However, when I try to run CS:GO, I get the following message:

"Error. This game requires OS X version 10.6.7 or higher."
(It looks just like this.)

I Googled that error and found very few results, and none with an answer.

I am not sure if it is related, but I seem to be getting a lot of flicker in the Steam window, too.

I reached out to the person I got it from and she said she did not have any problems with it before I got it.

Any ideas? Thanks.

CS:GO is written like redacted for Mac.

I don’t really know how it runs well for your friend. Newer ones can handle it better with brute force, but they still suffer from strange redacted happening

Problem solved.

It was a driver issue.

Thanks.

Hi motionman!

Would you happen to know what driver solved this issue? I am having the SAME exact problem you had when trying to open steam games such as CS:GO and cannot find a solution.

Hi people! Seems like it keeps being a pattern with CS:GO on Macs. I had exactly the same issue this February, but didn’t manage to solve it. After digging through the forums and sifting through a bunch of useless discussions, I came across an article about CS:GO errors on Mac. Regarding this particular error, it was stated there that this occurs even if the version that users are running is higher than osX 10.6.7 and that many gamers confirmed reverting to High Sierra fixed the problem. Maybe, but not for me. Moreover, interestingly enough,I’ve never had such problem ever since I started playing Rust. Even when I search for skins and other stuff at totalrust.com , and load it with myriad of items and skins, it runs perfectly.
