Hey, I've got a SB Live! 5.1, Connected via the digital out to my Kenwood home theater reciever (6.1).

When I do the sound test in counter strike after I setup the audio for 5.1, theres still sound that comes out of my center channel, even if it's doing the test on another speaker.

Is there a way to setup the game so its in true surround sound (DolbyD)?

THanks

I was never able to get CS to work for me in real surround, no matter what I did, sound would come out the front two speakers all the time. This was on an SB Live! As well, and later a GTXP.

Surround doesn't work for me in CS:S. Tested using the in-game tester. Left, center, and right channels work fine, as well as the subwoofer, but rear channels simply come out their respective front channels.

The only way for you to get DolbyDigital Surround Sound from a game is to use an NForce board with SoundStorm. You need a DD Encoder, and that is only sound setup that currently has one built-in. If you want 5.1 sound you will need to use the analog cables.

Update: I just tested CS:S with my A7N8X-E with Soundstorm, and the rear speakers don't work either. Works fine on a test tone, but I really don't use surround normally so I don't know if it normally works in a game.
