Counter Strike 1.6 vs CS:GO : Which one to stick with ?

I know that CS:GO is much more advance and with lots of features, but Cs1.6 was CS gamer's love for like 10 years.

what do you guys say?

Well since CS1.6 is completely dead and CS:GO is growing, it seems pretty obvious you only have 1 choice.

CS:GO is like 4 bucks, give it a shot if you hate it go back to your group of 20 or so people playing 1.6 worldwide.

Cs1.6 is dead? But I see many servers there.

Beside that I play CS:GO but feeling sad for the G[OLD] CS1.6 as many leaving it.

Great games eventually fall by the wayside; nothing you can do but move on. If I was choosing between those two, I'd opt for GO just because the userbase is already larger and still growing. I still prefer Source to either, but that's mainly because most of my friends are still on Source.

If you want to do competitive scrims then stick with 1.6.

Otherwise if you want casual play, go with CS:GO. GO would be fine for competitive play since the matchmaking system is decent, but with the recent sales I'm expecting a large influx of hackers and new players into the community.

CS 1.6 has ~37k. CS GO has ~80k. And CS 1.6 isn't exactly going to see an influx of new users signing on to play a game that came out over a decade ago.
