Count down to Trump saying something about McCain

to my knowledge the President has said nothing about McCains death.
I realize the President likely hates dealing with emotional stuff because it’s difficult for him but it’s the right thing to do and challenging things make you a better person.
Please post in this thread when the President says something about McCains death.

Really, POTUS should be the first person to comment publicly on a passing of this magnitude.

Narcissistic sociopaths have no need nor desire to say anything positive about their enemies and Trump sees McCain as one of them because he's outclassed even by him in death.

Narcissism.. its all about me, not about anyone else.

Narcissists typically display most, and sometimes all, of the following traits:

Sound Familiar?

That was before McCain died. IF Trump says something now it will be because of mounting public pressure and if it is a verbal statement he will read it like a kidnap victim speaking against his will-to be followed with 24 hours by an epic meltdown ala his Charlottesville "clarification" last summer.

The guy died. Trump said sympathy for the family and is staying out of it. Some of y’all just look for shit to be mad about.

Trump has to stay out of it because he hates McCain, a man head and shoulders above the bone spur hero. I disagreed with much of what McCain has done and Sarah Palin? Oh man.

Even so I could never call him a dishonerable person and that's just what Trump is. He can't say anything bad and get away with it, but he sure as hell isn't going to say something positive.

He hates him for sure. And it’s best he does stay out of it. I don’t get the pursuit of outrage wanting him to say something so we can all go "see!" though.

Of course in his short tweet, he manages to somehow to completely avoid saying anything positive about McCain himself, color me not surprised.

How sad that the fact the POTUS may send out a disparaging tweet in the wake of the passing of a sitting U.S. Senator who served his country and spent years as a P.O.W. is actually a possibility.

Has he announced a rally yet to compete with the funeral for attention?

K, he hated him. Paid his respects to the family.
You can have major differences with someone but still have respect at the same time. I'll have to say McCain was also not very mature by saying he "didn't want" Trump at his funeral.

Trump's remarks were timely & respectable & that's about it. I'm pretty sure he'd rather be pissing on McCain's grave.

Please. Trump's attendance would be more like gloating than any form of sincerity.

I find it hard to fault him at all for not wanting Trump there given everything he has said and done. The lack of maturity is on the man child who made it a consideration in the first place.

I mean Christ the sitting POTUS and no one is shocked he’s not wanted at the funeral of a war hero sitting Senator who twice ran for the presidency and instead wants to be eulogized by the men he lost to.

I don’t like my heroes captured. Kind of offensive to any POW.

Was probably a senior staffer making that statement. I wonder how an outburst would affect the midterms?

I expected him to say, "I prefer the ones who didn't die." I guess "thoughts and prayers" is an improvement over that.

Yea, no doubt dump started the bad blood with that horrific comment, an insult to all who actually served in Vietnam, I just think McCain didn't help by making the funeral comment. No matter, I'll always have ton's of respect for McCain vs zero for dump.
