Could You Watch "The 40 Year Old Virgin" in Mixed Company?

Ornery

Lifer
Just watched 40 Year Old Virgin last night, and found it to be pretty damn funny. It was about on par with "American Pie" for funniness and genre.

I'd like to know, how would like watching that movie with your parents, or teen kids? I don't even swear in front of my parents or kids, unless something REALLY irks me. The idea of watching that movie in their presence makes me shudder! 😱

A theater is mixed company right? I would know because I didn't laugh much and heard all the other older/younger males/females who were there. Stupid movie with maybe 2 funny sequences and 1 funny premise to put asses in the seats.

I watched 40 year Old it with all of my guy friends.

I guess my biggest mistake was watching "Jackass, the MOvie" during dinner with my family (parents, older brother)

I watched it by myself, I would never ever watch it with a family member.

btw the movie was horribly weak. Not funny at all.

I liked the movie. My wife and I watched it with our daughter in the office on the PC. We eventually made her go to her room, however, so she wouldn't accidently walk in, as some of the scenes and language were just way more explicit than we initially thought they would be.

It's definitely a "like-minded friends" movie, not a "parents and clergy members" one.

I watched it with my dad. And I've watched it with a bunch of my friends which are a mix of guys and girls and there was no problem. Hilarious movie.

The unrated version has some pretty rough language. I certainly wouldn't watch it with anyone under 18 and probably not my parents.

LOL of course. 40 Year Old Virgin... i haven't watched it, haven't even seen a single commercial (heck, i didn't even know the movie existed until like 2 months ago)... but i would guess it's about a 40 year old virgin trying to break his cherry... and has to go through lots of attempts before scoring.

Wait, maybe I didnt explain that well enough. We were watching it, and our daughter was in *another* room. I thought that would be well enough, and even if she walked through, we could tell to get back out or cover her ears. But it turns out on the unrated version, every other word is "fvck" or "c0ck."

We knew it was racy, but not 98% of the time. Still a pretty good flick.

It's very sophomoric humor, which should be obvious going in. I didn't expect it to have so much language, though. Laughed my ass off a few times, and even my wife couldn't help laughing at a lot of it. It was worth the time and couple bucks to rent it.

Edit: Oh, I forgot. Anybody who didn't like it, can go fvck a goat!

Watched it in the theatre with all the work mates, including the boss, a bunch of computer nerds, and the one girl that works there. The company paid for it.

yay for making your sales goals.

"Mixed company" means a group of both men and women and has nothing to do with thier relationships to you. A guy and his father and teen brother do not constitute "mixed company".

My parents really wanted to see it, too. So I put it in, felt really weird, then got used to it and we were all dying of laughter. 😀

  1. You know how I know you're gay?
Since "mixed company" is used routinely in reference to racial and religious distinguishment, I'm comfortable in letting it ride. However, if you can put together a more succinct topic title, I'll edit it!
