could you rip the lcd out of an old laptop and [somehow] connect it to a standard vga out?

i would like to, i only need it to look at CLI, for a little tiny server box, so just 640 x 480 would be great, lowest quality i dont care, it's just an idea but i think it's a cool one.

possible? ideas? bueller? bueller?
