I'm looking for a good laptop carrying case for my Gateway 450. Any suggestions. I'm looking for something along the line of a briefcase/shoulder strap to hold the laptop and stuff. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Clinth

Not sure if this an option for you, but I have the backpack specifically built for laptops...

I got this one last summer for $20 after rebate...my 15" compaq fits in there perfectly...

I have a very compact light 1/2 pound shoulder strap carrying bag. It cost me $10 and wasn't even specifically made for laptops but works perfectly for a laptop. It has two full size zipper pockets and 2 other button pockets on the outsides. I have another bigger wider heavier bag which came with the laptop but it is just not as easy to carry. Also, it has about 8 pockets and that's too many pockets for me as sometimes I forget which pocket I put things in. The main thing is to get a thin light compact bag with a shoulder strap so that it is easy to carry. It makes a big difference.

I'll look at it a little closer I'm not set on a shoulder strap a back pack would work as long as its padded and has the features I'm looking at.

Thanks,

Check out Zero Halliburton. They've got some briefcase designs that are pretty slick. I've got one myself but no laptop to put in it:p

If you already have a backpack you could just get a "sleeve" that protects the laptop inside your existing backpack.

Here is one I just picked up. Very nice for the money ($19.00!!) It comes in vertical or horizontal layout depending on your needs.

Hehe. got something against low prices?

You could probably find one at any mall for 2-3 times as much. Or go looking thru any kmart or shopko for one and get it for around the same price.

Check out COSTCO. Great bags... I bought two, one with wheels and one without. They are very tough and last for many years.

A have a friend that carries his laptop and his camera gear in diaper bags to reduce chances of them being stolen.

I have one of the Targus bookbag style laptop cases. I've used it with my Dell Inspiron 8200, 8500, and now the 8600. I am very happy with it. I have the Sport Standard Backpack (Platinum/Black) Model # TSB212, which can be found by clicking here. Hope this helps you.

Just wanted to say thanks, for all the great suggestions.

I went ahead and pick of a Cargo Suite from WaterField. I must say I was a little leary spend that kinda of money without being able to see one of their bags first hand. But after to talking with Gary I realized he stood behind his gear not a with just a warrante but with a his word and reputation.(this is huge to me). After I got the bag I was extremly glad I choose to go with him. these bages exude quality and workmanship down to the samllest detail. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a gear bag.

Thanks,
Clinth
