Could you make a custom water cooling system for you computer?

Just curious if it's possible to make your own water cooling system using a fish tank pump, but still uding the retail cpu attachment...
 
sounds like a lot of work with big risk

leaking water onto $100 motherboard seems like a Bad Thing
 
heh... That's how they were done not so long ago... There were a couple of guys that could machine CPU blocks from a chunk of aluminum that would still spank the commercial stuff today.
 
I watercooled a K6 with a garden fountain pump, a Harley oil cooler, and a PVC endcap. Did it pretty much just to see if it would work, which it did, but it was way more trouble than it was worth. I have better things to do with my time, like counting the hairs on my stomach and cleaning lint out of my belly button.
