I'm trying to get a new motherboard (old one doesn't have enough slots), but I'm not sure what type to get, since I was confronted by all these different types (Slot 1 and Socket 7). What's the difference? Does one work better for a particular processer (I have a Pentium III), or do they have different features?

Also, any idea of what else to look at would be appreciated as well.

Thanks!

If you have a PIII, you have either a slot 1 or socket 370. The way you can tell is if you open up your case and look at the CPU, you can see that it is a slot1 if it is in a big rectangular black cartridge. If it is a socket, the CPU would be flat on the mobo with the square heatsink directly on top of it.
