That is interesting AND good to know! I love cheese and beef especially! I wil keep eating them then. 🙂

As with any food, not all are equal. A yogurt that's half sugar/corn syrup, or full fatty beef is not something you want to consume all the time.

I've been one for four years straight, but meat has always turned me off and I rarely ate it then. But I'm a freak the whole life feeds on life thing has always bothered me, but i'm not going to stop eating from some freakish childhood notion. Caffiene was hard for me to give up, but I had to because it was aggravating my acid reflux. There are endless amounts of info online, just get to reading.

I can't do it. I'm way too active. If I go without meat I feel very lethargic (sp?), tired, and overall just not like myself. A piece of chicken perks my ears right up.

eating vegitarian isn't as bad as it might sound, but I have no desire to do it. And IMO his "findings" are pretty typical of those kinds of doctors. They probably tell everyone the same thing.

I suspect you are right about his "findings", but I want to give it a try as traditional medicine seems more concerned with treating the symtoms than perhaps curing the cause.

My first thought was the same as Mikey's. I'm sure if you had visited a chiropractor, they would have found subluxation in your spine and asked you to try being adjusted to see if that helped. I don't believe normal medicine has all the answers, but it seems like alternative doctors only have one answer for whatever problem you bring them.

Hey! I've been vegetarian all my life due to religion. I'd recommend getting hold of Indian recipes.. Lot of vegetarian dishes in Indian food ( which can be divided into North Indian and South Indian ) so google for them.... Some of them would include:

Paneer Tikka
Alloo Gobhi ( Potatos and Cauliflower )
Bhindi Masala ( Okra with Masala )
Pav Bhaji ( Mixed vegetables with spicy masala )
Chole Bhature ( Chickpeas )

South Indian:

Dosas
Idli - Sambar
Uttapam

I wish I liked veggies more, but I don't. I could easily live off of meat and grains. I have to force myself to make corn, green beans, and occasionally brocilli. Those are just about the only veggies that I like and I don't even like brocilli that much.

Been veggie for something like 12 years. It would be hard to do with wheat and soy allergies, IMO. Rice and beans / lentils will be your friends, I imagine. There's a surprising amount of variety that can be achieved with rice and beans (see Indian and Latin American food). Lay off soda and OJ too if you're having stomach problems -- the acid in them certainly can't help!

What type of health problems?

I get frequent migraine headaches and have had ulcers and other stomach problems.
I had a similar problem. I ended up ditching milk, caffeine, and acidic foods and my problem went away. I'd give that a shot before you do this. I can live without the tremendous quantities of those three things I was ingesting. I can consume them again but I've greatly cut back and stay away from caffeine whenever possible.
