I generally troll the pro-abortion line because I really am annoyed by Pro-lifers.

But you know, if it came down to it, I don't think I could make the call for an abortion. Especially if past the first trimester and she was visibly pregnant. I"m assuming that most posters here are male, but I'm also curious about the female perspective.

Let's pretend that your circumstances are pretty bad (young, little skills, little money) but the baby would otherwise be healthy with no genetic abnormalities.

Had to say no. Not because I am anti abortion but because I'm pretty sure I'm not getting pregnant so technically, no, I could not go through an abortion. ^_^

Would say no, but this is a personal decision as you are demonstrating...

How touching, you're letting moral qualms get in between a woman and her choice. Abortion is one of those few areas where men can get credit for supporting what women favor while also helping themselves out by ensuring maximum sexual availability for women; like I've said before only guys with a fetish prefer pregnant chicks for a partner. Plus for urban liberals, more abortions means less minorities to worry about mugging them in the future so that's an added bonus.

I'm not in danger of getting pregnant. But I know people who had abortions done, and reasonably so, because they were too young and financially unstable to have a kid.

Unfortunately, it seems you can't mention the word "abortion" without some politically-correct hipsters crying how we should all pity the woman and donate our tax money so she can have it for free. That is crossing the line in my book.

I wouldn't now but if I already had 4 kids, then yes. But I would get fixed by the 3rd kid so not to worry about it.

A bit of logical population control wouldn't hurt society.

I know intellectually that it is not such a big deal, but at the same time I think I would lie awake at night after the decision.

I've been shooting blanks for 15 years now.

Imagine it's your sister or daughter then. At least the OP was honest enough to admit his discomfort with the idea when considering it something other than the abstract instead of simply sidestepping the question like you are.

My ex aborted our child before we eventually got married. At the time, we weren't even out of high school. We weren't even close to being mature enough to raise a child, and her coming to term would be out of the question as in those days it wasn't a badge of honer to go to school with a stroller.

I have no regrets. I have two lovely kids from that marriage.

Still, I don't recommend anyone have an abortion. It's between the woman and her doctor period.

Nobody makes that choice lightly.

did it bother you? Or were you able to compartmentalize it away.

Voted maybe/probably in the OP's situation.

GF/wife getting raped would be the ultimate test of your conviction though. Something like that happens I think all bets are off.
