I voted yes. If I had to do it I would. The women I have known who have had one were all hit pretty hard by it.
For those that voted yes, why not place the baby for adoption instead?
For those that voted yes, why not place the baby for adoption instead? In all the pro-life/pro-choice threads I hardly ever see that option raised although it would satisfy both sides. People who don't want the baby could give up responsibility to someone who really wants the opportunity to be a parent. Pro-lifers wouldn't be up in arms either because the baby was allowed to live. Obviously there are some outlier situations where the life of the mother is seriously threatened but the huge majority of pregnancies don't fall in that category.
I personally know a few couples who have been actively trying to adopt a child for more than a year. There are lots of people out there who would love to be parents but can't.
It leaves out another position in that "just because I would never have one, doesn't give me the right to tell someone else that they can't have one as well."
To cop out on an answer to the OP, I'm a guy, so it's impossible.
However, part of the OP also suggests a false dichotomy - that someone needs to either be pro-abortion, or that they would never have an abortion themselves. It leaves out another position in that "just because I would never have one, doesn't give me the right to tell someone else that they can't have one as well."
yeah, well let's just pretend that she says, "let's make the decision together"
making it your call.
this is a cop-out, and you're stating the obvious.
When she says "let's make this decision together" it is NEVER your call. What that really means is that its still her call but you are expected to agree with whatever she decides.
again, that is obvious. the question is: how would you react to the responsibility of the call for an abortion.
The OP also makes it quite clear that this is for a specific hypothetical circumstance where it's your choice and the baby is perfectly healthy.
That ANYONE would say yes to killing the child.... without due cause, is quite enraging.
Of course I would. I believe the man should have every right to abort an unwanted child. Either BOTH parents want the kid, or the kid goes.
I said yes, it is a choice for a woman and her doctor. Really the anti-choice crowd tend to be men with small penis complex/power trippers.
Breeding is a bad thing imo. We have enough humans that need to learn to work together on this planet, lets feed/educate all then I am down for talking about having more.
anti-choice is such a better label. Objectively it is far more accurate than "pro life"
