If I had enough money to pursue my hobbies, and I was allowed to volunteer work at various places, I could pull it off. I certainly couldn't sit at the computer day after day for years to come though.

Probably not... If I were doing nothing, I'd have to be unfathomably rich to jusitfy it. To pursue all my crazy ideas, of course... like a OC'd PC immersed in flourinert, cooled by liquid nitrogen... pwnage.

I'll do it when i'm approaching 40. For now, I like having goals.

right. Even though i do not "work" i am more busy then i was when i was working.

In between takeing care of my 2 year old (though we plan on getting her in day care when she actually turns 2 next month for part of the day) mowing the lawn, cleaning up after my wife (darn lazy bum!) and my hobbies i am pretty busy.

Nearly every friday i go fishing or golfing with my father. I workout 2 days a week at the YMCA. Plus i do 90% of the cooking so i have to do the shopping also. heh I'm Mr. MOM!

edit: oh and i have been trying to figure out HTML for my site. darn stuff is a pain!

You have all day to do the activies you enjoy, but you wont' see another day of work for the rest of your life.

Would you do it?

yeah, i could come up with plenty of things i *enjoy* doing

a little travel
some more reading
learn a language, maybe a musical instrument, learn a craft of some kind perhaps, learn more about cooking

i dream almost every day of being able to retire now and just relax and do things i enjoy until i die...or until i want to *just* sit on my ass, which i think at some point i could handle
