Could you date/marry someone who is smarter than you?

For some of the guys here they may have no choice. Refusing to date a smarter woman would doom them to life of celibacy.

In a heartbeat. I dated someone who is at least really close to me, and very possibly could have been smarter/better educated. It was hot as hell.

They have dating sites for rich people now, or 'professional' people, or certain ethnicities, so I keep hoping to come across one for intelligence. Would be the ultimate awesome.

any girl who is smarter than me will most likely overanalyze and be very critical and bitter

I've read some of your posts...somehow, I don't think that finding someone smarter than you would be too difficult. :p

Opinions vary.

According to pure statistics however, there aren't many...and the fact that I'm pretty much hetero cuts even that number roughly in half. Only 10% of the country has even a single graduate degree, which is roughly equivalent to where I'm at education wise. That's a pretty good pool to draw from. If we use IQ, however, it's such a ridiculously small number as to render it highly unlikely to ever happen. Hence my desire for an online site specializing in it.

I did. Never regretted it for a second.

[edit] Search Linuxboy's posts and you can see for yourself.

While I'm smarter with technical things, she's smarter socially and much more outgoing.

So goes the life of a geek.

I might have a problem initially (I am very competitive) but I would get over it.

Currently my wife is better at math and spanish while I am better at english (reading and writing wise) and science

I certainly couldn't be with someone much stupider than I
