Could we have a non-posting day?

I mean a day where the members with less than a certain time weren't allowed to post. Kind of a reunion day for the long time posters were they could be free from unless posting and flame baiting banter.

I think that is a bad idea. But if it is implemented, I vote to make the cutoff Jun 2001. Anyone who registered later is out for that day. Still think it is a bad idea though.

this is just a scheme for people with >5000 post count to lengthen their lead. I call foul.

You are making the presumption that "long time posters" don't do their share of "useless posting and flame baiting banter."

Sounds good to me... but I think that anyone who has ever posted in the 100% pure nef threads (ie "name a band that begins with the last letter of the previous band") or whatever that thread is about should also be banned from the day also. :)

edit: I only posted the above reply so I could look to see if I made the Jun 2001 cutoff... Whew!

You'd be left out if they set the date where I wanted it. :)

If the senior members choose a date that would prevent me from posting for a day it would be fine with me.

Wingznut, I am making no presumptions about what some senior member do. But I will admit that most of the newer members are posting a lot of nonsense and rude comments that have little to do with the topic or even add humor to a thread.

It is of my humble opinion that the newer members are no more responsible for the crap around here than the older members.

It'd be interesting to sample 50 "crap" posts, and graph the term of membership for each crap post. ;)
