Could use your help with a research project

Some of you might remember filling out a tech survey last summer to help with a research project I am working on. Well, it's that time of year again, and it's time to update the data.

All you have to do is answer questions about how you use various technologies and services, and it should only take 5-10 minutes to answer all the questions.

This time I am randomly awarding four $50 American Express gift cards to the people who respond.

Also, please forward this to any friends you think might have some good insights and would be interested in participating.

Thanks!

this could almost buy in the Contests and Sweepstakes or Free Stuff section...may want to make the free gift cards a bigger 'treat' you will hook more people :D

I'd be afraid of the contests section - there may be a bunch of lurkers who would be less likely to answer honestly, just so they could complete the survey in as little time as possible. i.e. their motivation is winning, not helping someone out.

edit: and if I was reviewing your research, that issue would probably really make me question the validity of your research method. Don't forget, for a lot of those contests, etc., people "steal" them and post them on other sites.

that's true....I guess it's how you 'market it' and how many responses you want or need so your data feels worthwhile.

Good points about the survey validity - of course, this one isn't really designed to produce statistically meaningful data. Polling Anandtech definitely does not qualify as an unbiased random sample of the general population. :)

Still, for the purposes of finding out about early tech adopters, Anandtech is a treasure trove of information!

Thanks again for helping!

For the future, you may want to add a none of the above option so you know the difference between people that don't use any of the services and people that skipped the question.

Otherwise, Done.

Alright, got all the responses I needed, thanks guys!

FYI, I will still leave the survey up for the next two weeks, so if anyone else wants to complete it to enter the raffle, feel free to do so.
