I have a DellXPS 730X X58 I7 920. The computer came with a 4870X2 Video card.

I do photo work and the only gamming I do is FSX. I know FSX is basically favors NVIDIA and also Adobe products do also. What would be a good upgrade. I have a Dell 2311H IPS monitor and I run it at 1920X1080. I also have a 24in Samsung TN panel but mainly use it for my PS3.

I'm not planning on running over 1 monitor but may possibly upgrade to a 2711 Dell but that will be a while. Any help would be appreciated.

Well what's your budget?

Well I would say the new Geforce 680GTX, but that is $500....

So if that is to much

I would get one of these cards, the 560Ti will be faster probably 50%

the 570 and 580 will probably be 100% faster

but if you are looking at the 580 you are so close the 680 which uses less power and runs cooler and has newer tech I would just bite the bullet and get the 680GTX...

Humm, a 4870X2 replacement for just FSX and Adobe products? Do you need CUDA decode acceleration in Adobe Premiere? If not, that will make things easier.

Assuming you don't need acceleration for Premiere, perhaps a GTX 560 Ti 448? That would be pretty powerful for not too much money.

Thanks for your replies. I will be keeping this system for at least 1 more year as I sill have a year of waranty on it. The big thing for me is FSX. I'm runiing about 35 fps now and a lot of FSX is cpu dependent but I have it oc to 3.2 /3.4 turbo with no added voltage at all. I know the FSX will do better with nvida so I'm just looking to upgrade the card.
