I've spent awhile looking for different versions of some circa 1940's songs. I've used several search engines trying to get artist names and potential sources for the songs. Here's a list of things I'm either still trying to find or trying to find a better version (like getting the Gene Simmons - When You Wish Upon A Star ;) ) Looking for a couple alternates to the Andrews Sisters stuff and versions of songs that have lyrics as opposed to big band instrumentals

I'll try to add more info when I come across it. I put this project off for a few weeks so I need to find where I left off.

Someone Like You Fats Waller (can't find)
More Than Satisfied Fats Waller (can't find)
Sing, Sing, Sing
I Can Dream, Can't I? Andrew Sisters
Tuxedo Junction Duke Ellington or better (w/ lyrics)
Either Too Young or Too Old
Atlantic City, My Old Friend - Paul Anka?
Umbrella Man
Hey Daddy - Sammy Kaye - want to find a version that has the pig latin...
Dream

Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen Andrew Sisters

I have this, but it's by Manhattan Transfer... is that the kind of stuff you're looking for?

I have some Manhattan Transfer stuff as well and it's not quite the feel I'm looking for.

The ones I'm having the hardest time finding at all are:

Someone Like You
More Than Satisfied
"On the Boardwalk in Atlantic City... peaches and cream"
Dream
Hey Daddy (that has the pig latin)

Thanks for the suggestions, btw. ;)

Found these lyrics, I think this here's one of the songs... :

?Goodbye, little chicks, we are leaving the sticks,
We are catching the train at a quarter to six,
So if anyone should drop around, won?t you please tell them that we can be found
On the boardwalk, in Atlantic City, we will walk in a dream,
On the boardwalk, in Atlantic City, life will be peaches and cream...?

edit: Found out it's probably "Atlantic City, My Old Friend" by Paul Anka. Now to find a source for that.

Found Dizzy Gillespie doing Umbrella Man, looking for Kay Kyser's version

Think the 2 Fats Waller Songs are
I Need Someone Like You
I'm More Than Satisfied

Other current searches
Dream (trying to narrow down the artists that did this particular song... so many song titles of "Dream")
Atlantic City, My Old Friend (Think there's a newer version on the Atlantic City soundtrack)
