Could the Star Wars fans please explain this?

If Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader are indeed the same person, explain the difference in height between the two. Darth Vader is 6'7". Anakin Skywalker (Orlando Bloom) is barely 5'11". How can this be believable with such a discrepancy in height and size?

first of all, Orlando Bloom does not play anakin skywalker. It's because Darth vadar wears stilts to make himself look more menancing.

Dude, it's Hayden Christensen, not Orlando Bloom. :)

I'm sure the hight/size discrep will be explained in the movie. His legs are probably mechanical too, and he wanted to be bigger to better instill fear in the minions.

EDIT: As I started typing this none of those prior posts were there.

Well holy crap. I could of sworn the actors name was Orlando Bloom. My mistake. I don't think this other guy is as tall as Vaders original character though. I think the guy who originally played Vader was a hulking champion bodybuilder.

All Be One cut Anacrybaby's legs & one arm off in a light saber fight.

Anacrybaby made some design changes during the rebuild.

I used to be a bit of a Star Wars fan, but Lucas' last two films have left me feeling sick. This is probably just another fvck up on his part.

I recall him being about as tall as obi-wan when outside of his s&m outfit in ROTJ. I don't believe alec guiness was 6'7". Does that help?

Since a crapload of Anakin's body gets destroyed, maybe Palpatine wanted him a little taller so his phallic-helmet would look more intimidating?

Maybe it's all a mind trick.

"These aren't the droids we want" "That dude looks tall, I'm not applying the skin cream"

vader is mostly mechanics and electronics. Think general grievous (seriously, is it really that hard to think of a decent name for these sith lords?).

First of all, Orlando Blood does not play Anakin. Second of all, I'm not really sure about Darth Vader being 6'7". Third of all, the difference is irrelevant because Darth Vader is pretty much just Anakins head and Torso suck in a robot suit. If you were gonna get put in a robot body of course you would choose the big one.

This kid I know was joking with me today about the new Star Wars movie and how it'll probably suck. He says, "Imagine they create this robot with four arms and those four arms are swinging four lightsabres. Imagine they call it General Grievous. Sounds retarded, doesn't it? Well, it's true."

The actor who played Darth Vader in the original episodes, David Prowse, and who appeared out of the Vader costume at the end of the original version of ROTJ, is in fact 6'7" in real life. Hayden Christensen is 6'1".

So Darth could be wearing 6 inch platform shoes.

Actually grievous is not a sith lord, he is the droid in charge of the droid army. He hunts jedi for sport and uses their lightsabers to kill other jedi, hence the 4 arms, 4 blades. Also, if you go back ~5000 years in the SW universe there were a TON of sith roaming around so all the good names probably got taken.

As for the height difference (what, about 6 inches?) he likes to be tall so as others said, they added some height to his suit. Besides, all there is left is a mutliated upper-body and head region so the rest is whatever he wants it to be.
