Could the "pencil" in the pencil trick wearing away cause instability?

Hey all,

Weird problem: I have a KT7 RAID with a Duron 700 OC'ed to 1 GHz. Or, I should say DID have... It ran fine all this time at i GHz. Never had a problem. Now, once it gets about halfway into the Windows loading screen, I get BSOD. Bumping it down to 950, everything works fine. I have checked my HSF.... Hot as hell, so I know it's doing its job. It's an Alpha with arctic silver beneath. I'm maxed on voltage, so I can't bump it up anymore. So, is it possible that the traces I drew with graphite to unlock the CPU could be wearing away, causing it to be unstable? Weirdest part is, this system has NEVER...NOT ONE TIME locked up on me or BSOD'ed once I get into Windows. It's just a matter of GETTING THERE. WHat do you think?

So, you think it could be the only reason I can't boot WIn2K at 1 GHz? Why? I'm not doubting you...I just don't understand it. It posts fine, and almost gets there.... What's up with it?

I am basing it on user feedback from this forum. I have seen the question asked a few times.
