Could someone tell me a few things about this CPU?

Hello,

I'm new here and I would like to ask you whether someone knows the exact details of this processor(link at the end of the post) ? I'm particularly interested in the fact whether it supports Hyper Threading Technology, I know that it is a P4 running at 3.0 GHz and the numbers near the "dotted" box are :
m441b080
0505

Thanks in advance

Pentium 4 3.0ghz
1mb cache
800mhz FSB
Prescott core
90nm

Looks like a socket 775, but i dunno. Yes it supports HT technology, confirm that at the intel website through the link below. The 5 digit number starting with "S" can tell you everything you need to know about it. Just enter it in here.

Thank's a lot for the info, I forgot to mention, it's socket 478.
By the way, I would like to ask one more question, I have a MSI 845PE Max main board, it is designed to fit all the P4's, however the Manual reads that the support for 2.8GHz+ freqvencies are not tested yet. So I would like to ask whether this CPU will work with my MB?

Thanks a lot again.

EDIT: ah , I just finally googled it up http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=364
It seems that my manual is a bit out-of-date, since the page says it supports P4's up to 3.06GHz and is HT ready, just as the former CPU

The only thing that bothers me right now, is the FSB frequency, the CPU supports 800MHz bus frequency, however the MB can make a maximum of 533. Is there any possibility to make the MB operate on 800MHz?

It most likely will not run that CPU. It appears to only support 533mhz FSB northwoods at best. A power hungry 3ghz Prescott would either not work at all, or could even kill the motherboard. I tried a 3.06ghz northwood in a 400mhz FSB motherboard. It booted up, got to windows, and then killed the motherboard and power supply..

Where's Duvie, when you need him? IIRC, none of the 533 fsb motherboards will run a Prescott. Even if it would, it would be running it at 2000 Mhz (2.0 Ghz), and not at 3.0 Ghz. And stevty's right, Prescott's were killing some motherboards, because they used so much power, and the motherboards weren't able to supply it.
