I have an A8n-SLI Deluxe board I am running right now. DDR 400 ram is expensive when compared to DDR2 prices. I'm looking for a board that will support a 939 CPU (I have a 4200+), supports SLI, and uses DDR2. Is there anything out there to satisfy my needs? Newegg no longer lists 939 as an option. Thanks!

I believe it's not worth it, your CPU is not fast enough for SLI that's my point.

If you're on a tight budget I would get the ASUS M4N72-E, it's a AM2/AM3 motherboard that supports SLI and it's DDR2. If you can't afford a Phenom X4 or PHII X4 you can still get a cheap AMD duel-core for now, AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 for $59.99 it's not bad and next year throw in a Phenom II.

Well... IIRC there are no 939 boards that use DDR2 because 939 CPUs used an internal memory controller. The IMC could only use DDR, not DDR2.

I don't think there are many if any 939 boards new. You could probably find one on the FS/FT fourm. Don't know what your budget is but I just got and E5200+Mobo+HSF+DDR2 for $289. Fairly large upgrade also.

Save up for a new build 790GX/ Athlon 2 X2 thats where the bang for buck is- better to wait and invest in something up to date than something 5 yrs old already.

i dont think thats possible for s939 and DDR2 to be on the same board. But even if it was with that CPU SLI would be a bad idea as you dont have anywhere close to enough CPU power.

Ok didn't realize that. Could of sworn I saw a few boards that used DDR2. Looks like it will be a total board upgrade for me.

AM2 did DDR2, but not 939. Good luck finding a 939 board though--those things are long gone.

I still have a couple of boards in my wardrobe though...939 boards. I was wondering if I could get a 939 cpu...lol. Coz, my last one died on me. One is ASUS A8n5x and the other 1 is MSi K8N Neo4-F
