i need at least 260/270 FSB/HTT for my A64 3500+ which i plan to overclock....and ALL the reviews leave this issue open. Reasons are usually beta bios-es etc..

Didnt the gigabyte nforce 4 board crank out at 240 HTT ? They said "later bios will fix it". Good. But i need to KNOW and need to see reviews which of these boards actually overclocks best and not purchase a board because "Gigabyte says a future version of the bios will allow higher overclocks". I need facts.

Please post links to nforce4 reviews to get some insight, especially the overclock issue.

thanks 🙂

*ALL* these "reviews" (especially interested in the Gigabyte k8nxp) start like:
"PCStats just reviewed..."

YES..i know the pcstats review, actually for a LONG time. I also know the AT review.

However, this reviews are all based on beta bioses - the FSB cranks out at 217 (!!!) and no pci-lock.

Its months later now and i still dont know more.

no matter where i look, i saw some MSI, Asus and GB reviews...but these reviews all use beta bioses.

The MSI (on www.tbreak.com) overclocks NICE (he said up to 300 something FSB).....but it rather underperforms.

The OTHER boards all are SO rudimentary in their bios that they either dont have multis at all (!) or overclocking ends at 220 FSB.
For sure not something i would even consider to purchase !

Even after some time googleing i can tell you we need more reviews with these boards and the latest/porduction bioses. Otherwise (for overclockers) these reviews are kinda worthless. I hope the next days/weeks bring more REAL reviews.

Edit: spending $270 on OCZ ram and then see that some boards dont even hit 220....ehrm...not too good....

I am sure the boards will be sent to review sites when they are ready, probably 2 weeks ahead of when they ship them to retail.

It was right with the other boards on all but 2 benchmarks, and did that with beta Bios too, so it should get better. If it was out now I would definately give it some thought.
