Could someone host a small ColdFusion project for me?

I need to develop a webpage which will gather information from my classmates, store it on an Access database and present some statistics. Bandwith will be kept to a minimum, and ~200 users would be accessing the page. Since I'm short on time to deploy this project, ColdFusion would be the best option for me.

The last free ColdFusion host went out of business some months ago, so I'm out of luck. Well, if all else fails, back to a PHP tutorial I go ...

Thanks,
Kuk :)

Cold Fusion is something like $800. I highly doubt anyone on these forums will just *happen* to have a legit copy.

However, if you still need a host, PM me. ;) :p

j/k - I got rid of Cold Fusion some time last year.

Well, all I need is a host.

I learned CF through an old educational version of it, and I'm now using the Trial version for development.

If all you need is some webspace, I've got plenty of it. However, my webhost is recompiling apache and my control panel is not available. Otherwise, I would have PMed you with user/pass to get you started. :)

You have an account that supports cf?

Edit > If you decide to go back to that php tutorial let me know, and I'll gladely make you an account, but I can't help with coldfusion, :( so count that as a bump.

AFAIK no.

It's not possible to have UU do a short-term install of an evaluation version of CF at a customer's request? Jeez... This host is turning out to be not worth the money and effort. :frown:

There'll be about 1500 database inputs (the results from a survey we did), so bandwith will be the equivelent HTML to display a form and sending it in to the server. It has to be up until the end of next week.

Thanks,
Kuk

I plan to set up kuk with a subdomain - if that will suffice

readyhosting.com ... they're a great value for what I get (500MB/ASP/CF/PHP/unlim.email/bandwidth)... just slow... $8.25/mo. Most CF hosts out there want $15-$25 per month and offer only like 100MB space and 1DSN.

BTW, are you sure MS Access can handle 1500 records in/out ? ;) I had something similar... but just wonder how much of that performance issue was bandwidth alone... vs. Access performance.

Well, there won't be much traffic. Only a couple user at a time, and they'll be only adding fields to a table. Database reads will be kept to a minimum, and CF does a great job cacheing when needed.

Access should be able to handle 1500 users just fine, as long as there are only 2 or 3 people ever logged in at once...

Got a better host for me ?

i'm with weberz for 15 a month
150mb of space...doesn't sound like much...but it takes a helluva website to exceed that limit
such a website would typically budget more than 15 bucks a month anyways

weberz shared windows silver
