Could someone explain to me the purpose of logging out?

I don't think I've ever logged out since I joined. Is that bad? Why do people log out? Is it just so they can read the forums without anyone know they're here? Is that the purpose of it?

If you have two people that use the same computer to access AT the logout button would be handy.

Or if you read anandtech in a fairly public place with many users on the computer you don't want someone causing you problems by going on as you and then somehow getting you banned...
