could smoke damage your system ????

sorry i think i should post this on the off topic section... but nobody would answer seriously..

so back to my question.. could cigarette smoke damage your system..( i smoke about two packs a day in front of my system for about 4 hrs everyday ) my case is all opened.airconditioned room :eek:

Well lets just say when I work on PCs, you can tell which owners smoked and which didnt.

The inside becomes lined with stiky yellow tar, much as your lungs do.

You might want to close your case and use filters, but I am sure the smoke will still get in and coat everything. It should work, but I am sure your computer innards are not designed to be coated by smoke.

I don't know if it harm your puters or not, but smoker puters inard tend to have a smelly & sticky yellow tar

Anything with moving parts will not like that smoke at all. CD/DVD/CD-RW drives, FDDs, ZIP, system fans, etc will not be in such good shape after continuous exposure to smoke.

OK, what you do is drill holes were all your fans are that are the same size as the filters, then you either break off the filters of about 100 cigs or just buy the filters and shove them in the holes, now your system is protected from tar and nicotine, at least that is what they told us in the 60's.:)
