This is the spec sheet I have for my subs:

Should I just wire everything for 4 ohm? Forgive my ignorance, as I haven't installed or even looked at speakers in over 4 years and I've lost my head :p

resistance and impedance are not the same thing, it should be on the spec sheet...?

The subwoofer/s determine what impedance they are run at. If it runs at 2ohms then you have no choice but to run it at 2 ohms :)

You should be more concerned about damage to the amplifier, in which case check it's specifications.

it says voice coil inductance and i don't know anything about sub design but if the DC resistance is 3.17 ohms and then figuring the impedance from the inductance at its highest point of 150 hz comes to about a total of 3.9 ohms when added to the DC resistance. so maybe it is a 4 ohm sub?
