"Could Not Open Com Port" Error Message

I have Comcast Cable as my server so I use a Lan Card to connect to network. I never have any problems. However, I needed to use PC Anywhere recently to dial into my work. When I went to activate my modem I got an error message that popped up and said "Could Not Open Com Port" What is the best way to correct this?
