Could moving to DD-WRT fix my router issues?

OK, I play a lot of online games on my Xbox 360 and my Linksys WRT54G-RG has been pretty solid, but every once in a while it would change my NAT from Open to Moderate or Strict. Usually I could get it open but it is now to the point where no matter what I do I cannot get it open.

I got the router refurbished years ago but didn't install it until maybe 1 1/2 years ago, it worked like a champ for the first 6 months, gave me a few issues since then, and then a month ago it started this.

Would flashing it to DD-WRT fix my issues or do I just need to replace the thing? Any other ideas?

the NAT issue is usually the UPnP service failing or not being on at all. Check those settings and check for FW from Linksys. if not, DDWRT could fix the issue. I have setup a few DDWRT routers for friends that are running the Xbox's just fine.
