I want to build a new computer with an i3-12100 and an ASUS Prime B660-Plus D4 motherboard. I am not a gamer and I have pretty basic needs. This motherboard has 3 display ports: HDMI, DP and D-Sub. Could I use these 3 ports with my 3 Dell U2412M monitors?

DP is where the bandwidth is for multiple displays.

If you wanted to use 3 ports w/o DCing them together as @lakedude showed then you would need a docking station which will have its own GPU's inside to mux the displays. I used to use one when running off a Surface Pro 3 to get around the limited ports and multi display. Fairly cheap to do but, not as cheap as a couple of DP cables.

Also, double check the B660 specs to make sure it supports multi display

I know that the i3-12100 can support 4 displays, My concern is with the ASUS Prime B660-Plus D4 . Can it output to all 3 ports at the same time.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but i think I have read in the past that some motherboards with 3 outputs can only display to 2 of them at the same time. Am I right?

Not a stupid question, good question if you can't daisy chain.

Pretty sure a you can buy a breakout box for display port if you can't get all 3 different ports to work at the same time.

Some splitters only support mirror mode so be careful if you need extended...
