Could I run a 15'' VGA LCD and a Xbox 360 on this?

I have one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Xantrex-...851-0401/dp/B000157TNK

Provides up to 400 watts of AC power
Converts 12 volts of DC power from a vehicle battery into 115 volts of AC power
Two AC outlets to operate two devices at once
Automatic shutdown protection against overload, over-temperature, and low or high battery conditions
DC terminals for a vehicle DC socket or direct battery connection

I was wondering can I run a 360 and a cheap 15'' lcd display on this?

I remember running a old Xbox and a 13'' TV (Tube) + VCR on this

Why not? Just try it and see if it works. At the worst it just shuts off while you're playing. (360 uses about 200w, I'd imagine that LCD monitor uses about 35w, so it should be able to power both just fine)

Ok great; How would I be able to find these numbers so i dont have to ask again?
And how long can I run them in a moving car?

I would probably determine how much power these devices consume AFTER THE TRANSFORMER.

See my 19" LCD monitor takes up 14V and draws 3AMPS (at least that what it says on my transformer).

I imagine your Xbox 360 draws something around 12 to 14V. It would be easier to build a power supply or get some sort of power supply do to this rather then to step up the voltage by 115V and have your Xbox and LCD step it down. You will lose a lot of power and availiable amperage when you use transformers. But you need to do some research because it needs to be highly regulated if any voltage spike occurs it could blow the monitor and or xbox.

you can get power meters pretty cheaply. you plug your xbox into the power meter and it tells you how much power or current is being used.

Do the same with the screen.

However, you might not want to be drawing ~300 watts through something that small, even if it's rated to 600 watts.

Also, even if your inverter is good for 600 watts, the aux power outlet in your car might not be.

the 12-14V power you'll find in a car is way way too dirty to run electronics. The inverter he's got should have some filters built in to give you reasonable 115V, and the transformer for the xbox should clean that up even more.

I wouldn't run sensitve electronics on a simple inverter like that.. $42? Sounds like the Powmax of inverters..

We got a pure sine wave inverter for our laptops. It's 400 watts as well I believe and cost $130. I wouldn't go anything less than a modified sine wave inverter.
