My request is based on the fact that the stated grounds for locking the threads has not been substantiated. While I do understand that many people have an emotional aversion to the subject in question, I contend that should not restrict us from discussing the matter.

For an example which will hopefully be less emotionally charged; imagine we had a thread discussing an article which presents evidence disputing Biblical literalism. Would a Biblical literalist moderator be free to keep the thread locked while claiming "facts within the quote are false" and refusing to substantiate his claim?

I respect decisions to lock threads which are based on false information, but such a reason has not been demonstrated here, leaving me to suspect it is not a decision based in demonstrable reality, but rather one based on intangible faith. So, is there any chance this thread can be reopened, or better yet the thread it discusses?

It seems to me the decision to keep it locked has already been made, Start another thread asking for it to be unlocked and your account here will be in jeopardy.

Who would you suggest I PM specifically?

Besides, I prefer public discussion. That is why I come to forums rather than hanging out on ICQ or whatever.
