could I implement Daul Channel by use different size memory on nfore2 platform???

I have two DDR400 memory ,but they are different size,128MB and 256MB.
because I am going to buy mainboard based nforce2 chipset,so I want to know that could it implement Daul Channel DDR??

I've heard some mobos can handle this, but I have only ever used identical chips on nForce2 boards, and never had a problem

When using two sticks, they must be the same size and type memory, I.E. -two sticks 2-2-2-6 256 pc3200. Now if you use 3 sticks, you can use 2 128's of same memory in one chanel and 1 256 of same tipe in other channel and it should be fine, I.E. - 2 x128 pc3200 2-2-2-6 and 1 stick 256 pc 3200 2-2-2-6, or 2x 256 pc 3200 2-2-2-6 and 1 stick 512 pc3200 2-2-2-6.
Both channels memory have to equal the same, whether two sticks or three.

Good luck

he's right, also, if you use something like 3 sticks of 512mb, thats means one channel has 512mb, and the other channel has 1gb, you will be running 1gb as dual channel and 512mb as single channel.

Highly doubtful.

Most instruction booklets specify you that if you wish to run at Dual Channel DDR mode you should (MUST) use two identical memory modules, density and speed wise.

only the channels need to have identical amounts of ram to run in dual channel, any more and the leftover runs single channel. this has been posted before, perhaps do a search on this forum

thanks for everyone who reply to me.

I think that just for intel chipset ,because i865/i875 has only one MC,however, nforce has dual-independent MC.
