Could I get an unlocked Palm Centro and use it with a SIM card from Tmobile prepaid?

Yes you can. If you get the gsm model which goes for $200 unlocked, you can just pop in your prepaid sim, and the phone will make & receive calls. You ain't getting data on a prepaid sim though. At least, not on a US plan.

i thought some of the smaller carriers had prepaid data...i could be wrong though

What I'm really interested in mostly is the phone as a PDA. . . I liked older palm PDA's. I don't really care about internet. I just want to sync documents, music, etc. . .
