Could I damage my LCD panel (2001fp) by running a non-native resolution?

I just recently switched my 2001fp to another machine with a vid card that only goes up to 1280x1024, I'm pretty sure that the native resolution for the panel should be 1600x1200. Would it cause damage to the panel to run it in a non-native resolution?

It won't damage it per-se, but it will look crap. If there is an option to not expand to fill the screen, turn that on. It will look "smaller" but everything will be crisp.
