Could God exsist?

Tab

Lifer
Is there any factual scientific evidence that god could possibly exsist?

If god doesn't exsist are our lives meaningless then?

God does indeed exist.

Last night I got a call from Him right after He finished talking to George W. Bush.

God told me He thinks Bush is an idiot and He just felt like talking with someone who He knew could understand Him.

Isn't there a limit to how many repeated discussions are necessary?

I've just about had all the Religion/Abortion/Homosexual debate I can take. Sorry, just had to spout...

Has anyone told you you're an idiot and a tool just like the rest of the trolls on this forum?

Sorry, just had to let that one of my chest.

lol, you mean someone's calling me a name?? Golly, that's just so upsetting....

You seem extra sensitive about criticism over your dumb-as-nails repost X 100. Past your bedtime?

It seems that the village idiot isn't offering any insight into the thread... So, I guess I'll get us back on track...

God doesn't exsist, there is no inherit meaning in life. Which is a good thing, we get to make our own paths in life. We get to create our own purpose.

Do we know? No.

No one really will ever know until they die or the rapture happens...

As far as I can tell there isn't any evidence that god does exsist.

I've often wondered that if God is real why do those people with true power and riches ignore him? I mean, if the most successful and powerful among us are ignoring God while at the same time they tell us we'd better behave according to his rules or face the consequences, why aren't they worried about facing those same consequences?

Of course.

For example, a "watchmaker god" created this universe with all of its physical laws, and is now observing it just as we do in physical simulations for weather predication or aircraft wing design. This is entirely consistent with every observed fact about the universe, there is just no way to prove it.

Other versions of god tend to apparently violate physical laws for miracles, but one could argue that there are ways of doing this (science fiction has hand-waved about affecting quantum probabilities, or introducing energy into the universe from outside of it). It's also possible that the creator of a universe would simply be able to sidestep its laws as a person running a simulation (or cheating in a PC game) can do, i.e. "god mode."

If god doesn't exsist are our lives meaningless then?
No, there is just no externally imposed, single, pre-generated meaning for your life.

I find it ironic that Jesus taught us to love and care for one another and even is there is no God the best we can hope to accomplish while we're here is to love and care for one another.

Well recently there was that famous physicist/atheist guy who had turned into a deist and claimed that there were distinct patterns/relationships he had observed that made it highly unlikely they could have come from anything/anyone other than a creator.. I cannot recall his name though.

Eh? How is jerome the village idiot? You may not agree with what he says, but he always relates it in a clear, intelligent and civil manner. Far from a troll.

You're lying to yourself to make the world seem nicer. Objects cannot define their own purpose. Undoubtably you decide what to do in life, but that's a far cry from deciding why you exist on Earth. Because if God doesn't exist, we are accidents that just happened to pop up in the universe from genetic mutations. No purpose or meaning whatsoever. To say "I give my own life its purpose" is pure self-deception. Get used to it.

According to your worldview, you're only here as a highly intelligent animal to eat, sleep and reproduce, so your genes can be passed to your offspring so they can do it again. Any vestige of "morality" you cling to is just pre-programmed rules of group behavior that helped everybody survive, not some objective system you're obligated to follow. To say anything else is just plain lying.

If you already have all the answers, why ask the question?

Could you explain what you mean?

BTW, what's with all the extra 's' s in Tabb's threads?

*Test*

take acid and try to talk to god. I will be using a stone garden gnome as a control.

*results*

Talk to god no, but I did spend a long time talking to my hand only to wake up in a bathtub with the shower running because my friends said I passed out.

As for the gnome. He told me he did not speak to god either, but some punk kids painted him all differnt colors.

*Conclusion*

Inconclusive.

Because they do not believe in God, it's a show, all to gain support from those that do. In fact I would prefer that people stop referring to Bush as a Christian. If it doesn't act like a duck, nor quack like a duck,...

Lack of scientific evidence of a thing is not proof of whether it is true or not. What if God doesn't want to fit under that microscope? Therefore, science has nothing to say about God.

As far as "meaning" goes, I have pondered that as the generations before us have, and as those who have yet to come will. It is an unanswerable question we are compelled to ask.

Fixed.

God does not want blind followers, unlike the current administration.
