could dvd-rw show up as cd rw?

in a dvd-rw i put in a dvd-rw cd (ive used it and it worked before)to try and put pictures in it and it says you need a rewritable cd! (arent dvd -rw rewritables)
so i look at the letter E: and it shows E: and F: as Cd drives
help how can i fix this My E: its dvd but somehow it shows as Cd drives
thanks anybody and everybody

unless you have special drivers for it, they will typically be detected as a cd-rw drive(since that's really all windows can access anyway) all your other programs that use the dvd drive have their own drivers to utilize the other laser diodes. unless you are having problems with your dvd software/access to the drive you should be perfectly alright.

Cheers,
