Could care less?

Could care less means that you are slightly bothered by something.
Couldn't care less means that you are at the bottom of caring, something doesn't bother you at all.

Twice I have seen could care less in a situation where it would seem the person meant couldn't care less, it just bugs me because the meaning is very different.

This is one of those nit picky little things that people love to complain about as if they are so intelligent for realizing it. It's a commonly fudged up figure of speech, settle down, everything will be ok.
