Could AnandTech do this?

Aside from the forums, I read and enjoy AnandTech articles, particularly price guides.
These guides help me get a sense of the market value of video cards and other things.

But to the problem: the prices where I live (Sweden) are higher than those in US stores such as NewEgg, and they do not drop significantly over time (for example, the 6600GT has dropped about 20 over the course of 6 months, and is still about $250).

Because of this, I could benefit making my purchases from US stores. However, not many American stores ship to Europe.

What I would greatly appreciate is if the AnandTech price guides included a section for foreign readers like myself and others, where prices are listed for stores that do ship overseas. Looking at every store and trying to find out whether or not they ship to Europe is a tedious and - because of the usual results - unrewarding chore.

As another example, the new 7800GTX is about $835. It should be quite obvious that even with the increased shipping costs of sending something across the Atlantic ocean, I could save money by purchasing a card from the US for say $550.

I don't know if Anand himself or someone else has the time or the interest to add a "section for foreign readers" like I'm suggesting, but it would make us a bit less left out of the main market. 🙂

This would be a cool feature.

I think it's a lot harder to make suggestions for foreign builds when you don't know the relative prices of items. I know there are a lot of Canadian readers especially... and British to a lesser extent.

I can take the same suggestions; I still use AnandTech articles and forum suggestions when purchasing hardware. It's just that it would be nice for the guides to bring up the actual stores that ship to Europe.

Unless that/those store/s have much higher prices that normal, even if only a single store can be found that ships overseas it should still be able to save us Europeans some money compared to buying locally.

If I recall correctly, all of AnandTech's pricing info is from their partnership with DealTime. If that's the case, AnandTech may not be able to implement such a feature on their own, DealTime would have to design it.

You could also find a trusting forum member who lives in the US, have them purchase it, and ship it to you, but I too would prefer to buy it direct...

if there aren't that many, how hard is it to remember which they are?
