Could an Intel GMA 950 comfortably run Counter-Strike: Source?

So I just got a new laptop for school. The specs are fine, except for the video. It's only an Intel GMA 950-based system. The resolution of the screen is 1280 x 800. Do you think I could comfortably run Counter-Strike: Source on this? And at what settings?

And about how "advanced" can the games be that I could run on this system? Is it basically things that run on the Source engine and maybe Unreal Engine 2? Or does it vary a lot?

Thanks!

Could it run it.....yes!

Would i want to play it on that?......no!!

It'll probably be a little choppy even at low settings and far from a 'pleasurable' experience.

But that is the achilles heel of most laptops today. Always skimping the the graphics, but unlike a desktop, cannot be upgraded :(

CS is based on the Quake II engine. I've run it on a 8MB ATI Rage Mobility on an Athlon 4 1GHz laptop. Considering GMA 950 can play UT2004 at maximum settings or near-maximum settings, it better damn well run CS!

No, it will not run it. It can run in DX8.1 mode but at very very low FPS. The desktop GMA950 and a fast processor can barely play it, but the laptop version is just not going to happen (I have a GMA950 and tried...). It looks nice, but runs unplayably slow.

CS 1.6 and CZ run fine, CSS no.

Okay, maybe medium settings, then, ha ha, but medium settings look close to maximum settings. I saw this on a friend's new MacBook (Core Duo, GMA 950) and was very surprised at how well GMA 950 was doing. I can't remember if he was running 1024x768 or 1280x800. I think it was the former since everything seemed a little stretched. Either way, GMA 950 delivered on UT2004 without sacrificing image quality.
