Could an animation be added to the search page?

When you click on the "search" button on the search page is it possible to have some type of little animation going so that you could see that it was actually processing your request?

While it is searching it looks like a dead page, and you arent sure if you got the button pushed correctly or not.

Or maybe I'm just a dumbass.

So instead of it sitting there searching, you want it to first load a page for you that contains an animated .gif and THEN start searching?

Sluggo, it's something we may do down the line, as I agree it's nice to know that the system is doing something. But, as sunner said your browser does that for you.

Well actually mine doesnt. IE6 wih all of the updates.

Thats what I found so curious about it.

EDIT

OK, going back and checking, it works for a couple of seconds then stops.

Still seems like a long time from when it stops and the page changes from the search page to the results page.

In IE View->Status Bar (checked)

Now down at the bottom is the "Status bar" or "work indicator"
