Could a new motherboard make this much difference in temp?

Before, my processor was running about 43 C idle, and 48-49 under load. Now that I got my A7N8X, it's 33 idle and 38 under load. Is it possible for the motherboard alone to make that much difference? Or is it a difference in the measurement of the temp between boards?

Wow MrEgo..I think you need to do some tweaking on your system. Shouldn't your platform be getting better 3DMark scores than what I have below? Especially with that FSB speed? Not knocking ya'...just curious why they're lower than mine. I've seen lesser systems (AMD) with higher scores than mine.

Every mb has a different pickup point for the temp plus the software factors so dont worry too much. If you have the same hs on it, touch it to see if it feels the same more or less as the previous board.

I have, and it doesn't feel as hot as it did before... the only major difference in the boards is that my previous one had a really tiny heatsink on the northbridge, and you all know how massive the one is on the A7N8X.

It could be that you situated your heatsink a little better when you transferred the cpu.

It COULD be, but I doubt it... since I had installed that heatsink 4 different times on the old board each with a fresh application of AS3.
