could a certain app/game reveal instability in an otherwise stable system?

one of my rigs, a Q9550 with a mild OC, 333 MHz FSB -> 400 MHz (undervolted, i think around 1.1v - 1.2v), has been stable for as long as i've had it (couple of years).
any app, program, game i've run on it has been stable.

now when playing SC2, I get crashes quite often- a couple of BSOD's (W7 x64), but most of the time just SC2 crashing itself and i get the error reporter.

the obvious thing i've done is bringing it back to stock speeds, which i've done and it crashes less frequently now, but it still crashes.

i haven't read anything stating that SC2 was a demanding game, so this is coming as a surprise to me.
is it my system, or is it SC2?

What is crashing when you get the BSOD? It is very important you read the cause.

If it's the video driver, there is a good chance it's just your video card is unstable, or the driver you are running is causing problems.

i guess i have to check the dump file.
ugh... i hate parsing those.

i should also mention that i'm still undervolted.

The latest patch did cap the FPS at the menu. I am pretty sure that any crashes are your system (and mine). I played about 500 games in the beta (and 100 on that one since release) on my old e6300 @ 2.4ghz, 2gb DDR2 800mhz, and a 512mb HD4770 without any crashes.

However, I am having problems getting it to run stable on my new i7 930, 6gb GSkill 1600, and GTX480 at stock with no AA. I can get past many memtest86+ runs and at least 10 hours of Prime95 on it though. Oh, and it worked for the vast majority of the games yesterday, so I guess it is close to stable (2/30 crashed).
