could 180W possibly be enough for this setup?

I'm going to build my friend a comp pretty soon, and I want to use the inwin L545 slim matx chassis. It comes with a 180W psu (Power Man LPS-1806DV-20 180W) and I can't find it anywhere without a psu included. I'm going to put in an msi 6390L (km266) mobo, xp1800+, 256mb ddr, cd burner, seagate cuda IV hd (7200rpm), and a firewire card. do you think that 180w psu could possibly be enough to guarantee stable operation all the time?

180 watt is pretty low. The Athlon uses quite a bit of that 180 watts, and a fast HD like that would take a fair chunk not too mention today's video cards are gas hogs. I would be looking for a) a different case with no power supply to add your own, or b) changing the power supply in the case you buy with a good 300-400 watt. I have an Antec 300watt and it's great.

takes my p4 up to 2.9ghz. 🙂

ALSO: A WORD OF WARNING:

This case in particular will probably block anywhere from 1/3 to 3/4 of your CPU fan because of the vertically mounted cdrom.

The PSU is also proprietary to the case, and does not have the 6 Prong "AT" connection for the motherboard.

wow! maybe I will try it!

I heard about the problem of the cd drive covering the hsf. I was planning to use a ax-7 and a silencer on an msi 6390L mobo. The socket on this mobo seems to be much closer to the top left corner than most, so I think it might fit. I measured another 6390L + ax-7 + silencer system I have and the farthest corner of the hsf is 6" right of the left edge of the mobo, 3.5" down from the top, and it protrudes out from the board 2.5". I'd really appreciate it if you could measure your setup and figure out if this would fit. thanks!
