Well, I ordered mine on Monday, shortly before I posted the OP. It's has already arrived and is now set up in the office area. It's smaller than I thought it would be, which is good. And the prints look wonderful.

I'm very pleased with the purchase. If anyone has a question about it, I'll answer if I can.

Cheers!

Have you found any deals on toner? The best I've seen is around $100 for all 4 (aftermarket, not Xerox), with an expected page count of 2000-2500. Obviously I'd use a different printer for straight BW printing, but that still seems painful...

Since it uses wax instead of toner, maybe you can just melt crayolas 😛 I wouldn't trust non-Xerox wax though..

nice deal btw...very tempting.

I don't think so. The Phaser 8xxx series uses the solid ink, but I believe all the 6xxx series printers use standard powdered toner.

I've been considering this as a recommendation to a client, but like others, i'm curious about prices and availability of toner replacement.

It's regular toner. In terms of price for toner, that about what I expect. I mean you're talking about printing 4-5 reams of paper. If you pay to have color copies done somewhere else, you're typically in the $.10-$.15 range per copy. So your talking $.10 x 2000 copies=$200 and that's at the low end of the cost per copy range.

It might be because the higher end 6180N was $120 from Quill on 1/6.
Thanks. Maybe next share here before the deal is dead? Just a thought.

Something tells me he shared this with many, just not here. I discovered gotapex.com before I found this place 8 years ago.

Well that's just disappointing! Xerox shouldn't even call it a phaser then..
