Costco Warranty + PS3

I see that Costco has a PS3 bundle for around $480. I really have no use for the extra controller or HDMI cable. The lowest anywhere else is pretty much $400.

So the questions is, is the Costco lifetime electronics warranty worth paying extra even though I don't need what comes in the bundle?

And how does the warranty work? What happens if Costco no longer sells the PS3 and your PS3 breaks?

Anyone's $.02 would be appreciated.

my coworker didn't get one...so when his ps3 drive died the other day, he's lucky he found the old recipe to get sony to honor the warranty as it was almost over.

Dunno...the 360 did have a good number of red ring failures but I haven't heard anything of the PS3.

costco no longer has lifetime warranty on all electronics, make sure you check the receipt.

I don't think anyone other than Sony knows what the failure rate is, but it's definitely not abnormally high like the Xbox 360.
