The dude at Costco said its best to microwave them to reheat them, have any of you tried them using both oven or microwave and which came out better.

Microwave works fine for me. I only use the oven to reheat things that's awesome with crisp.

The container says not to put into the microwave, doesn't it?

I didn't have my glasses on when I looked at it earlier, it does have heating instructions, microwave, leave it in the container. Reading FTW.

Chili from Tommys being heated in the microwave, the container does fine, the lid is what melted on me.

I'm starting to understand. Your addiction to fast food is less about convenience than it is about a near total ignorance of cooking. Fortunately, there are remedial classes at your local community college. In your spare time, slap your parents for allowing you to leave home without knowing the basics of how to care for yourself. Unfortunately, you're not alone.

Low moisture, high grease, can get very hot in a microwave and melt some plastics. Anything thick like chili is going to get super hot on the outside since it has no self mixing action like things that are more liquid, so stop and stir frequently.

Chicken may heat in the microwave very unevenly. My preference is fresh and hot, old and cold, or pull off all the meat and put it in ramen.

have you got a roasting pan? (i.e anything which can go in the over)

put chicken inside, add half glass of water, cover with aluminium foil. cook for 5 minutes, then remove foil, cook for 2 more.

voila', perfect chicken.

I actually have a rotisserie for doing them. I just wanted to see if these were easier.

Somewhat related i often find the meat to appear undercooked near the bone.

i thought we were talking about reheating preccoked chickens? wouldn't the rotisserie dry them?

if so, the only real option is a steam bath (in the oven, with added water, sealed in foil) to heat them, then removing the foil once the water has evaporated to re-crisp the skin, without burning/drying the chicken

When I get a store rotisserie chicken, I eat my fill and then break it down into shredded meat and skin. Discard the bones unless I am making soup or stock etc...

When its time to reheat, the shredded chicken warms up nicely in the oven, doesn't take long and isn't dry When reheating chicken, its better imo to reheat this way than to do the entire intact bird.

I tend to eat the breast meat first since the dark meat survives reheating better than white meat.

the salt's for flavor. You ever try browning salt? it doesn't go very well.

I separate the meat from the carcass, and reheat by boiling in the soup I made from the bones.
