I know they take Cash, check, AMEX, but will they take my Visa Debit card?

yes, they will take a debit card IF it is a checkcard - meaning it has a visa logo on it.

US: Cash, check, Amex, bank debit cards.
Mexico: Cash, Visa, or one Mexican bank card (Scotiabank?)

I am both a Costco and BJ's member. Costco's only CC is AMEX...they will take bank debit cards (I am not sure of other debit card options...I have only experience with bank ones).

BJ's will take any CC or debit card. This is a big plus if you use cards with points.
