Signing their own death bed.

If you don't won't to open then don't, why make a big deal about it? Not like costco is hosting the deals that won't last through the weekend anyway.

Looks to me like everything they said was in a short press release, an FYI. ATOT, on the other hand, loves to make a fuss about anything it can regardless of how it was treated by the source.

Personally I might want the hours, but I probably wouldn't, and I definitely respect them for not treating their people like wage slaves.

Costco takes great care of their employees. I would work for them in a second if they had great accounting jobs. Most people are just jealous. In the US treating employees properly is a thing of the past. Especially with the recession. Employers are just crapping on people because there are ten other people begging to get crapped on.

One of the previous posts highlight the turnover rate. Costco completely destroys the current trend of high turnover within companies. There was an article on forbes about it last week. Just can't find it.

JESUS CHRIST! You can't sign a death bed!

But you knew that. Nice troll play. I can play ball with you. I just did. You saw it, right?

Its great to see a company that cares for it's employees. Seem that's a rarity now days. Employees are often just seen as a cost that needs to be removed or reduced in order to increase profits. Because the billions just arn't enough.

You just get yourself a sharpie and scrawl your John Hancock on the headboard!

It's the in thing, all the kids are doing it these days.

The best Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals are mostly online anymore. I haven't seen much that's worth staying out all night in the cold for in almost 10 years.

What they don't tell you is that Costco employees WILL be working Thursday night to prepare.

Don't believe me? Ask someone who works at one.

Ah, so you can eat with your family, but the second you put that fork down, get your ass to work, BITCH. You're working from 8pm to 6am, so eat fast and eat hardy cause you'll need it.

I work at Costco, I have for 6 years.

The store is closed Thursday, no one will be there, the whole day.

Friday is just like any other day, we start at 4am. This is when we unload the trucks and stock the shelves. If anything, we might start at 3am black Friday. Because the store Opens at 9am, an hour earlier then usual.

And, yes, it is a nice place to work.

Yep, whenever I do something out of the goodness of my heart, I have a spokesman make a press release about it.

Exactly. Why scream it from the mountain tops when a simple sign on the door would do fine.

Could you buy a house in California with Costco pay? No? Then they don't care about you. Employees should get $35/hr because in California, that's survival pay. You need 2k per month for a cheap mortgage in the ghetto. What? California Costco employees don't deserve a house? No place to live? Why not? No American dream for California Costco people? American dream is dead I guess.

The American dream has been dead for a very long time and Costco, California or, your opinion has little to do with it.

Look around, the average American wage earner can't afford a house regardless of the area.

What's a "wage" earner? Doesn't everyone earn a wage of some kind? Oh, you must mean hourly people, as if they are the scum at the bottom of the economic barrel. Got it.
Wait, aren't lawyers "wage" earners? They often charge hourly unless they win a case with a payout.
I also love when people call someone "working class". WTF does that even mean? Working class? How many people make it in life without working? The only people who aren't working class are the ones who collect welfare.

So, you don't like labels but, don't mind using them yourself? What exactly are you on about? If the majority of your income comes from something you do as opposed to something you own, you are a wage earner.

I'll say it again, the American dream is dead and buried. Many try to get around that fact by raising the income of the "middle class" to absurd levels. The reality is that our standard of living has fallen since I was a kid.
